Google Drive is a suite of products that lets you create different kinds of online documents, work on them in real time with other people, and store your documents and your other files -- all online, all in the cloud and all for free. If you have used GoogleDocs in the past, it has been updated to GoogleDrive. With an Internet connection, you can access your documents and files from any computer, anywhere in the world. (There's even some work you can do without an Internet connection!)

"Working as a team is crucial to the success of any counseling program whether you are a group of counselors or the only one at the school. Google Docs (or Drive now) allows collaborative development, review, and dissemination/distribution of multiple types of media between counseling teams, students, teachers, parents, and any other stakeholder you wish to reach. Share powerpoints from classroom guidance lessons, slides for parents from info nights, gather data from the integrated form feature, and provide professional development training documents with staff. There are infinite possibilities and the learning curve is fairly small so grab a Google account, if you don't have one already, and start playing around with the Google Docs features. I find learning by doing is one of the best ways to master new software!"

"School counselors: You need to generate data for your program, and there's not a better application for that than GDocs. Set up a form, publish it to the web, get your kids into the computer lab to take the survey, and you're done. It even spits out some nice simple little graphs for you to use when you're looking at the numbers. "
